As I look back, I can see how God brought Eugena into my life. I don't think she ever talked about the Lord while we were together. I'm sure I didn't.
After I wrote Dr. Peale the letter "In Loving Memory of Todd," which he printed in PLUS magazine, I sent a copy to Eugena.
When Eugena responded and sent me the Bible verse, “Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6 NIV I knew she must be a Believer now, too.
One afternoon, I was out on our patio, lying in the sun. I had my chair positioned next to our little shed. No one could see me. All of a sudden, I noticed a car drive in and park in front of the apartment across the driveway.
Thinking back, I don't know why I was even paying attention to it; cars drove in and parked all day long.
Anyway, I noticed a guy go into the apartment. He began bringing items out and placing them in his car. I began to wonder if the girl who lived there was moving.
I didn't think too much more about it until the girl came over a short while later and asked if I had seen anyone near her apartment. Now she started crying and told me she had been robbed. The things they took were very important to her.
I shared with her what I saw, describing the guy and the car.
Wouldn't you know, she knew exactly who it was. She ran home and called the police. I'm happy to report she received her items back.
I'm now praising God that I was out on the patio that day and noticed this guy for this girl's sake.
"Write down for the coming generation what the Lord has done, so that people not yet born will praise Him." Psalm 102:18
