40 ~ Living In A Home

By Kay Heitsch

Living in a home in a neighborhood was nice. Leasing duplexes and townhouses was fine. I liked the pools and clubhouse, but it was nice to have our own home now.
Our neighbors were friendly. Todd and Shannon loved the neighbors. The people next door had them over a lot. They made homemade ice cream with them in the summer. I made crafts, and I still have the things I made with the lady who lived next door.
There were two elementary schools you could attend in this area. One was public, and one was Catholic. Todd was in the second grade, and we chose the public school since we weren't Catholic or even Christians.
The neighborhood kids like to come over and put on plays in our basement. They seemed to have a lot of fun together.
A doctor who had been an Olympic swimmer had a pool inside his home. He had a swim team for kids. Since Todd had spent so much time at the pool where we lived, he joined.
The swim team had uniforms and were called The Sharks. Todd learned all the swim strokes and won several medals when he swam against other teams.
I praise God for living in this area. I find it interesting that God put us in this "Precious Blood" neighborhood when I wasn't even a Christian. I know God was smiling!
"Write down for the coming generation what the Lord has done, so that people not yet born will praise Him." Psalm 102:18
